The Manifestation
of The Essence |
|
Ashamsun badaa min 'aalami 'l-ghaybi daw'uhaa
am
inkashafat'an dhaati layla sutooruhaa |
Has the light
of the sun appeared from the world of the Unseen, or have the
veils of Layla been lifted from Her essence? |
|
na'am tilka layla qad abaahat bi hubbihaa
likhillin lahaa lamaa tazaayada shawquhaa |
Yes. The
longing of Layla for Her beloved friend has grown until She
has revealed Her love, |
|
fa
ad-haa aseeran fee muraadi gharaamihaa
wa
naadat lahu'l-ashwaaqu haad,hee ku'oosuhaa |
So that he
has become a captive of Her ardent desire and the longings
which are Her goblets called out to him. |
|
fa
maa barihat hattaa saqat-hu bika'sihaa
fa
laa lawma fashrab fa'sh-sharaabu hadeethuhaa |
She did not leave until She had given him a
drink from Her goblet. There is no blame. Drink! for the wine
is Her speech. |
|
wa maa hiya ilIa hadratu 'l-haqqi wahdahaa
tajallat bi ashkaalin talawwana nooruhaa |
And She is
naught but the presence of Truth, alone, who manifests Herself
through forms whose every light varies. |
|
fa abdat badee'a sun'i fee tayyi kawnihaa
fa laahidh sifaata 'l-hibbi feeka dhuhooruhaa |
She has
manifested the unique beauty of the form design in the depth
of Her being. Look at the attributes of the Beloved manifested
in you. |
|
fa
wa llahi maa haaza's-sa'aadatakullahaa
siwa man badaa 'abdan dhaleelan ya 'ummuhaa |
By Allah none
have attained complete bliss except the one who becomes a
humble slave and seeks Her out. |
|
faghattat qabeeha 'l-wasfi minhu bi wasfihaa
wa laahat lahu 'l-anwaaru yabdoo shu'aa'uha |
And thus, She
immersed the ugliness of his nature in the beauty of Hers, and
lights shone from him, their rays appeanng. |
|
faghaaba 'ani 'l-hissi lladhee kaana qaati'an
wa 'aanaqa ma 'nan laa yahillu firaaquhaa |
So that he
withdrew from the sensory which was a barrier and embraced a
meaning from which it is unlawful to separate. |
|
fa harrir akhee qasdan wa a'ridh 'ani 's-siwaa
yahubbu 'ala 'l-ahbaabiminka naseemuhaa |
Therefore let
your goal be to commit yourself, oh my brother , and avoid
otherness and Her gentle breeze will waft over the beloved
ones from you. |
|
wa taftahu sam'an li 'l-fu'aadi min saalikin
li'anna lateefa 'l-'ilmi minhaa daleeluhaa |
You will open
the hearing of the wayfarer's heart because the subtle
knowledge of Her is Her proof. |
|
famunna 'alaynaa daa'iman biwisaalihaa
wa
ghayyibnaa 'an hissi 'l-mawjoodaati kullihaa |
Grant us
union with Her always and cause us to withdraw from every
sensory existence. |
